I think September was my hardest month. I felt flat. I felt like everyone was done with their training and I was basically on my own. I met up with a few friends who are training for IM Arizona and IM Florida and rode with them. Its hard when the sun stops shining, the rain and cold move in and the darkness takes over your early morning rides and runs. SIGH
I had a few weeks where I did what I could but knew that wasn't the best option going into the last 8 weeks of training. Pick it up Kristin. Id sleep late, eat bad, you name it I did it last month.
What brought me back to life is my ranting to my coach and reading Chris McCormacks Book. Hes so sassy but so right in so many ways. Hes a bigger triathlete just like me..he cant take big hills and heat, just like me...wow...I am in awww of all his accomplishments
Last month my daughter went into 3rd grade, started gymnastics AND dance!! I cant imagine having any more kids with all the stuff she does! Although Im not opposed to it by any means!! ;)
Yesterday started a new month, new consistency, new eating, new outlook on my tri-training. I know I can do this and do it with confidence and grace if I have my head in the right place.
Last month in numbers:
Swim: 18,646 yds- 8.17 hours
Bike: 19.56 hours- 266.12miles + trainer
Run: 18.15 hours- 114.59 miles
Strength 1.5 hours
TOTAL TIME- 47.38 HOURS
27 more days!!!

March Madness is over. Spring forward to April!
Im so excited its April!! In exactly 28 days from now I will tackle my 10 miler. We ran the whole course Yesterday in a little over 9 min miles. I told myself the whole run that I wasn't racing it. I was taking it easy as it was my rest week. I just wanted to see all those hills again and remind myself I can do this course. I can tell you we counted the hills as we were doing them and there was around 11 hills. Im not talking little hills. there are about 4 I can name that are long or pretty steep. I never knew Syracuse was so hilly until you get out on this course. I have to admit there are some pretty areas of the race as well where you can see the Syracuse Skyline, the dome, all the good stuff.
Last month was a good month in training. I spent many long hours on the trainer going batty but I seemed to make it out alive and in one piece. I have been practicing alot with nutrition which has been going great. I don't feel as sore after workouts and am recovering quicker which is a plus in my book. I am going to try and ride outside this coming week. We will see how this goes.
One other note, I booked my Hotel for the Beach to Battleship race in October!! Im so nervous and so excited at the same time!
Here are the numbers for March:
Swim: 21,216 yards- 7.42 hours
Bike : 15.75 hours
Run: 86.58 miles- 14.10 hours
Strength: 3 hours
Total Time: 40.28 hours!!!
A friend of mine asked me about my nutrition. Ill post soon in regards to this
Happy Training! Be Safe!

March is here!! Few more weeks until SPRING!!
Ahh, March!! The light at the end of the nasty winter tunnel. 3 more weeks until Spring!! Today it was almost 40 degrees here in Central New York. This is short running weather for me! I keep looking at the Weather for this Saturday and it still says 40, so it looks like Ill be wearing my green Shorts!!! Did you know green is a lucky color?!! Im psyched!
I have to say today I was doing 1 mile repeats on the treadmill and by the 3rd one I was ready to be done. My legs were just dead. My hamstrings are tight right now. I have been trying to roll the suckers out. My feet are up and recovery socks are on. Direct orders from coach said NO Cleaning, NO standing anymore than I have to so I have been pushing it with the honey making him do my dirty work! I even showed him the email from Ms. Eggers. He whined a little. But he knows I want to do well.
I have some serious mental toughness this week. Eat Clean, Positive Race thoughts, Nailing Pre Race nutrition have all been on my brain when Im not doing anything else. Geesh, I didn't think I'd be so obnoxious about my race this weekend as I have been in the last 2 days!!
February was a good month for me in training. Mainly because of the great gains in my running. I have been training with some hard *sses and they will not let me get away with missing a workout. Especially on Sundays. I would never hear the end of it!
Here are the totals for February-
Swim- 20451 yards, 8.01 hours ,
Bike- 16.17 hours
Run- 82.92 miles- 13.95 hours
Strength- 5 hours
TOTAL time- 43.13 hours
Happy Training!!
